Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak
In everyone’s life, some temptation occurs. It could be in the form of jealousy when you see your neighbor’s new car. You could dream of being married to someone else when you have an argument with your spouse. You could wish for a different child when yours is again in trouble.
I have had those moments in my life. It is in these times that I need to look at my blessings instead of what may have been. It is difficult especially when you are having hard times, but it is necessary. I have so much to be thankful for.
It is in time of jealousy and temptation that the enemy is strongest. You can’t let him win! Indeed the spirit is willing but we as humans are weak. We need The Spirit to succeed and drive away all those tempting thoughts and ideas.
If anyone says they have never been tempted, they are not being truthful. We have all been through these rough patches. But it is with God and through His Son that we can forge ahead.
So, instead of wishing for a different life, give thanks to God for the one that He gave you. Look at your surroundings and be grateful. Be appreciative for everyone that God has put in your life even if they cause you pain at times.Everything that happens to you is because God wills it and He knows the plans He has for you. We need to accept His will at all times.
Be careful what you wish for – you may just get it.
